MEET OUR TRAINERS:
Edwin Garcia, Jr.

Personal Trainer, Group Fitness Instructor, Nutrition Services, General Manager, Owner
Edwin obtained his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of California at Davis in 2000 after enjoying an athletic career playing college football for the Aggies. He completed his Personal Trainer Certification through Expert Rating in 2020 and has 30 years experience in the strength and conditioning fields, starting when he boldly walked in to the Calaveras High School weight room at 12 years old and started training for his then future high school athletic career. After playing at UC Davis, Edwin managed a large volume gym for a while before moving on to become a college football coach. During his times coaching college football, he was the strength and conditioning assistant coach at three different universities. Those experiences included training all of the competitive athletes, male and female, for the wide variety of college sports, as well as working with the athletic trainers to coordinate rehabilitation training for injured athletes. After coaching college football, he ventured athletically in to running marathons. Endurance training, and the associated dietary needs, were foreign to this former anaerobic athlete. The learning curve was steep, but with dedication and quality leadership Edwin was able to lose 70 pounds and become a competitive aerobic athlete. Recently, a knee surgery and back injury have helped increase his knowledge base regarding rehabilitation, flexibility, and balance. He recently designed, and started, a middle school strength and conditioning class at the school where he teaches science. The class has grown in enrollment and continues to benefit students 3 years later! Additionally, Edwin has an extensive understanding of cardiovascular health and how to exercise to produce results in controlling blood pressure and cholesterol. His professional body of knowledge, and life experience, combine to provide a vast resource for his training clients.
Edwin is married to co-owner and yoga instructor Alex Schneider. The two of them are extremely fortunate to have two wonderful little boys, Edwin III and Armand Manuel. Edwin enjoys gardening, doing things with his family, and reading. One of Edwin's favorite quotes is, "The best competition I have is against myself to be better." - John Wooden
