The services on this page are designed for the senior population or for those who have physical set backs or prefer a more gentle approach to fitness for any reason!

Personal Fitness Training is the optimal solution, but there are other suitable options as well:

​Beginner/Senior Yoga                                                           - 45 minutes
This class has 2 components: a standing series and a floor series.  The standing series will focus on developing balance and the floor series will have restorative postures that help develop flexibility through holding individual postures . Chairs, the wall, bolsters, straps and blocks will be used as props to make the postures accessible to everybody.

Gentle Moves                                                                                   - 35 minutes
Designed for beginners or seniors. This class incorporates gentle movements and light strength building exercises followed by a stretching session.
 


MEET OUR INSTRUCTORS:

Alexandra (Alex) Schneider

Owner, Yoga Instructor, Beginner/Senior Yoga
Alex Schneider is the co-owner of Pure with her husband Edwin.  She has been practicing yoga for 18 years and teaching for 5 years, earned her 200 hour yoga teacher certification from Shoshone Yoga Ashram in Nederland, Colorado, and has taught at Pure and Studio M.  Alex has a background doing a variety of sports including show jumping horses, capoeira (afro Brazillian martial art), and rock climbing. She teaches high school math and is a mother of 2 boys. In addition to yoga Alex enjoys running outside, spending time with her family, and reading.


Carol Hart

​Personal Trainer, Yoga, Pilates, Dance, and Cardio Fitness Instructor, Beginner/Senior Yoga

Carol is from Berkeley, California and has a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Oberlin College and Master of Science in Microbiology from Oregon State University. She completed her certifications as Pilates Instructor through Power Pilates in 2010, Yoga Alliance 200 Instructor in 2012, and NASM (National Academy of Sports Medicine) Personal Trainer in 2018. Carol has self-published a short piece on the unanticipated joys of personal training called “Hart Training” that is available on the Amazon Kindle Store.  Her passions include dance, yoga and Pilates, and also enjoys weight training, dog walking, and backpacking in the Sierra Nevada.  Her greatest joy is spending time with her family which is increasingly difficult to orchestrate with two grown and fledged “kids.”  One of Carol’s favorite quotes is, "Dance like no one is watching” – Mark Twain


Kelly Salonen

​Kelly is mother to three girls and also works as a Realtor with Cathey’s Valley Real Estate. I'm proud of the fact that I've lived in Mariposa most of my life. Fitness has been a part of my life since joining the military. However, at one point in my life I was about fifty pounds over weight. Then after joining another local gym, I got back to a healthy weight and became an instructor for Bootcamp and Silver sneakers for five years. I took some time off after having my last two kids. Now I am very lucky, and happy, to be working at Pure Training Studio leading classes. Please come join me in a light weight lifting and body toning fitness class or a gentle moves class.
